Rhode Island State Investment Commission, Providence, approved commitments to two funds totaling $80 million, said Evan England, spokesman for state Treasurer Seth Magaziner, who oversees the commission.
At its Monday meeting, the investment commission committed $40 million total to Altaris Health Partners IV, a buyout fund managed by Altaris Capital Partners, and its supplemental fund, Altaris Constellation Partners IV.
The commission also approved a $40 million commitment to ISQ Global Infrastructure Fund II, managed by I Squared Capital, which focuses on middle-market opportunities in the energy, utilities and transportation sectors.
The commitments are subject to successful contract negotiations.
The State Investment Commission manages the assets of the $7.8 billion Rhode Island Employees' Retirement System, Providence.
