Tom Binks joined Schroders as a fiduciary manager, a spokesman said.
Mr. Binks replaced Jonathan Smith, who left at the end of last year, the spokesman added.
Mr. Binks develops tailored investment solutions for pensions funds and other institutional investors, and constructs long-term derisking investment strategies for defined benefit plans. He reports to Hannah Simons, head of fiduciary management at the £416.3 billion ($536 billion) money management firm.
"We are pleased to confirm the hire of (Mr. Binks) to the team. His hands-on experience designing investment strategies and practically implementing them will complement our consultative approach," Ms. Simons said in a news release.
Mr. Binks previously was assistant portfolio manager for fully delegated, defined benefit pension funds at Willis Towers Watson. A spokesman could not provide details of Mr. Binks' replacement by press time.
