Texas Teacher Retirement System, Austin, committed a total of $381 million to three private alternative investment funds in June, a transaction report showed.
The largest commitment made by the $139.7 billion fund was $230 million to Strategic Real Estate Equity Fund I, a co-investment managed by Principal Real Estate Investors focusing on investment in U.S. opportunistic properties, according to the report.
TRS committed $103 million to another real estate strategy: CBRE Europe Value Partners 2 SCSp SICAV-RAIF. The fund, managed by CBRE Global Investors, will seek opportunistic properties throughout developed European countries.
Investment officials also committed $48 million to a private equity co-investment, Element II Co-Investment. The fund, managed by Bridgepoint Advisers, will concentrate investment in small to midsize buyout opportunities in developed countries outside the U.S.
