Louisiana Teachers' Retirement System, Baton Rouge, rehired Loomis Sayles & Co. to manage about $365 million in active domestic core-plus fixed income, said Dana Brown, director of public markets.
The $18.1 billion pension fund issued a solicitation for proposals in May because of the pending expiration of Loomis Sayles' contract. The board at its meeting on July 7 decided to eschew finalist presentations and rehire Loomis Sayles.
Investment consultant Aon Hewitt Investment Consulting assisted with the search.
Separately, the pension fund committed up to $75 million to distressed debt fund Castlelake V. The pension fund previously committed up to $75 million to Castlelake IV in 2015.
The pension fund also committed up to $50 million to venture capital fund Insight Venture Partners X. The pension fund previously committed up to $50 million to Insight Venture Partners IX in 2014.
Also, the pension fund committed $12.5 million to Roark Capital Partners II Sidecar, a private equity fund managed by Roark Capital Group. The pension fund previously committed up to $75 million to Roark Capital Partners IV in 2014.
