Ross Campbell was named director of responsible investing at Barrow, Hanley, Mewhinney & Strauss, Mr. Campbell confirmed in an e-mail.
Mr. Campbell said his position is new and will cover all strategies and funds managed by the Dallas-based money management firm. The firm has a large subadvisory mutual fund business. Mr. Campbell was previously president of consulting firm SRI Research Group.
Officials at SRI could not be immediately reached for comment on a replacement.
Barrow, Hanley, Mewhinney & Strasss has more than $80 billion in assets under management.
