New Mexico Educational Retirement Board, Santa Fe, rehired Brookfield Asset Management for a $250 million real estate investment trust mandate, said Bob Jacksha, chief investment officer of the $12.2 billion pension fund, in an email.
The board launched an RFI in March.
Separately, the board, at its June 13 meeting, extended the relationship of GoldenTree Asset Management, which manages about $172 million in a credit hedge fund portfolio. Pension plan policy requires officials to seek board authorization every four years to continue the investment, Mr. Jacksha wrote.
