Kern County, Bakersfield, Calif., hired Voya Retirement Services as record keeper of its two 457 plans, said Chase Nunneley, the county's assistant treasurer-tax collector, in an email.
The county issued an RFP in October 2016 due to the upcoming expiration of incumbent record keeper Empower Retirement's contract on Oct. 1, 2017. The firm did rebid for the services and was a finalist along with Nationwide Financial.
The two plans have a combined $447 million in assets.
