Pat Race was named a partner in KPMG U.K.'s pensions investment advisory team, said a spokeswoman.
Mr. Race replaces Jon Exley, who joined Schroders as a senior investment strategist.
Mr. Race, based in London. will work with Nick Evans, partner, KPMG investment advisory and trustee services, and his team on all aspects of investment, from strategy to money manager appointments, said a news release by KPMG.
"This new role demonstrates the growing strength of KPMG's pensions practice, as an increasing number of trustees and businesses seek our support to navigate difficult markets, continued low interest rates and mounting regulatory challenges," said Mr. Evans in the release.
Mr. Race was a senior partner at Mercer. A Mercer spokesman could not immediately provide information on a replacement.
