The San Francisco City & County Employees' Retirement System approved an investment of up to $100 million in its hedge fund portfolio and two $25 million commitments in natural resources and private equity funds, show board documents from the $22.2 billion pension fund's June 14 meeting.
The multistrategy hedge fund is managed by Elliott Associates and the investment was made by the system's board in closed session on April 4.
The board in closed session on May 17 approved an a commitment of up to $25 million to Upfront VI, a venture capital fund managed by Upfront Ventures, and a $25 million commitment to Energy and Minerals Group's EMG Iron Ore HC Lux.
