Kathryn Sweeney was named head of SPDR Americas institutional sales at State Street Global Advisors, spokesman Andrew Hopkins said.
It is a new position. Ms. Sweeney will be responsible for overseeing the execution of the institutional sales strategy for the Americas division of SSGA’s SPDR exchange-traded fund business and working with the Americas institutional client group team to drive ETF sales with asset owners. She will report to Nick Good, senior managing director and co-head of the global SPDR business.
Ms. Sweeney was global head of distribution and product strategy for the securities division at Goldman Sachs Group. It could not be learned whether she was replaced; Goldman Sachs spokesman Andrew Williams could not be immediately reached for comment.
SSGA had $2.56 trillion in assets under management as of March 31, with $558 billion managed in ETFs.
