Valentijn van Nieuwenhuijzen was named CIO at NN Investment Partners and Delta Lloyd Asset Management, said a spokeswoman.
The appointment is subject to regulatory approval, the spokeswoman added, but she did not specify when it will be effective.
Mr. van Nieuwenhuijzen will replace Hans Stoter, current CIO of NN Investment Partners when the regulatory process is concluded, the spokeswoman added.
The merger of NN Investment Partners and Delta Lloyd Asset Management was approved in April. The combined business has €250 billion ($280 billion) in assets under management.
Mr. van Nieuwenhuijzen is currently chief strategist and head of multiasset. He will retain the responsibility as chairman for the tactical asset allocation committee at the firm.
Ewout van Schaick, head of multiasset portfolios, will replace Mr. van Nieuwenhuijzen in the same role.
