Stephan Schali was named chief investment officer at Partners Group, said a spokesman.
Mr. Schali, currently co-head of private equity, will replace CIO and co-founder Marcel Erni on July 1, the spokesman added. David Layton, currently co-head of private equity with Mr. Schali, will become sole head of private equity.
Mr. Erni will remain at the firm as a member of the board of directors, global investment committee and strategy committee.
Mr. Schali will chair the global portfolio committee and continue to focus on the firm's global private markets investment and portfolio management. He will remain on the global executive board.
Partners Group has more than €54 billion ($60 billion) in assets under management and invests in private equity, private real estate, private infrastructure and private debt.
