Glenn W. Reed, managing director of Vanguard Group's strategy division, will retire in late July, spokeswoman Emily Farrell confirmed.
He will not be directly replaced.
Chris McIsaac, managing director of the planning and development division, will assume Mr. Reed's strategy and innovation responsibilities; Anne Robinson, managing director, legal and compliance, will oversee the investment stewardship group.
Mr. McIsaac and Ms. Robinson both will continue to serve in their current roles.
Mr. Reed was outside counsel to Vanguard before joining the company in 2007.
Vanguard managed $4.3 trillion in global assets as of April 30.
