Texas Teachers assigns nearly $300 million to 2 managers

Texas Teacher Retirement System, Austin, committed a total of $299 million to three alternative investment strategies in May, a transaction report showed.

The investment department of the $139.7 billion pension fund made two co-investment commitments from its real estate portfolio to funds managed by Neuberger Berman’s Dyal Capital Partners unit: $91 million to Dyal Zeus Co-Investment Partners IX and $8 million to Dyal Zeus Offshore III. Both funds will seek opportunistic investments in the U.S.

The pension fund also committed $200 million to EnCap Energy Capital Fund XI for investment in U.S. energy investment opportunities. The fund is managed by EnCap Investments.
