Marietta, Ga., is searching for a bundled provider for its $34 million 401(a) plan, according to a solicitation for proposals posted on the city's procurement website.
The city had originally issued an RFP for both the 401(a) plan and $35 million 457 plan in an effort to consolidate the plans under a single provider, although at the time the city was considering hiring separate providers if unable to consolidate the plans, said Beth Keller, city purchasing manager, in a Feb. 22 interview.
The 401(a) plan's current provider is Principal Financial Group and is eligible to rebid. The reason for the new search could not be immediately learned, or whether the 457 plan retained current providers ICMA-RC and Nationwide Financial or changed providers.
The SFP is available on the city's website. Proposals are due at 2 p.m. EDT on July 10. A timeline for a decision was not provided.
Ms. Keller could not be immediately reached to provide further information.
