Michael Mauboussin will join credit specialist BlueMountain Capital Management as director of research in July.
The position is new, said Ted Smith, a company spokesman, in an email. Mr. Mauboussin will report to Andrew Feldstein, BlueMountain's CEO and co-chief investment officer, and will seek to improve investment processes and increase collaboration between the firm's investment teams.
“We are thrilled that Michael Mauboussin will be joining BlueMountain,” Mr. Feldstein said in a news release. “He will bring exceptional intellectual capital to our firm. His experience, creativity, and energy will make us better investors and will create significant value for our clients.”
Mr. Mauboussin was managing director and head of the global financial strategies group at Credit Suisse. Azar Boehm, a Credit Suisse spokesman, declined to comment on Mr. Mauboussin's replacement.
BlueMountain Capital Management manages $22 billion in alternative investment strategies.
