Philipp Patschkowski was named a principal in Neuberger Berman’s European private equity business, said a spokesman.
The position is new. Mr. Patschkowski will focus on traditional private equity business, which includes fund investing and co-investing. He will continue the expansion of the firm’s private equity capabilities in Europe . He will report to Joana Rocha Scaff, managing director and head of Europe private equity.
“With approximately 20% of our global committed capital now coming from our European client base, we are delighted to welcome (Mr. Patschkowski) to the team to further enhance our European capabilities. His deep knowledge of the European private equity markets will be invaluable to our continued effort to deliver attractive investment solutions to our clients,” Ms. Scaff said in a news release.
Neuberger Berman has about $50 billion in committed capital under management globally.
Mr. Patschkowski joins from Coller Capital, where he was most recently a principal, responsible for originating and executing secondary and strategic primary fund investments and co-investments as well as leading fundraising activities, particularly in the Germany, Austria and Switzerland region.
A spokesman for Coller Capital declined to comment on a replacement. A source familiar with the firm confirmed that Mr. Patschkowski left Coller in April and will not be replaced.
