State Street Global Advisors appointed two new people to its SPDR exchange-traded fund business, said SSGA spokesman Andrew Hopkins.
Noel Archard was named senior managing director and head of global SPDR product, while Seth Morrison was named managing director and head of global SPDR marketing. Both positions are new.
Mr. Archard will be responsible for product strategy, innovation, product range and lifecycle management for the global SPDR ETF business. He will report to Cyrus Taraporevala, executive vice president and head of the global institutional group, and Rory Tobin, executive vice president and co-head of the global SPDR business.
Mr. Morrison will be responsible for all marketing activities across the SPDR business in North America; Europe, the Middle East and Africa; and the Asia-Pacific region. He will report to Nick Good, senior managing director and co-head of the global SPDR business, and Stephen Tisdalle, chief marketing officer of SSGA.
Messrs. Archard and Morrison will both be based in Boston.
Mr. Archard was managing director and country head of BlackRock in Canada, while Mr. Morrison was a principal and head of Vanguard Group’s flagship business development group. Mr. Archard was replaced by Marcia Moffat, said BlackRock spokeswoman Maeve Hannigan. Vanguard spokeswoman Laura Edling declined to comment on whether Mr. Morrison was replaced.
SSGA had $2.56 trillion in assets under management as of March 31, $558 billion of which was in ETFs.
