Kevin D. Barry was named chief investment officer of investment consulting firm CAPTRUST Financial Advisors, said John D. Curry, senior director, marketing.
Mr. Barry replaces Eric Freedman, who left CAPTRUST in October 2016 to become CIO of U.S. Bank Wealth Management.
Mr. Barry will lead CAPTRUST’s consulting services group, which is responsible for “investment manager due diligence, asset allocation, and discretionary investment management for the firm’s wealth management and institutional retirement plan advisory businesses,” according to a news release.
He will report to J. Fielding Miller, CEO and co-founder.
Mr. Barry was previously CIO and senior portfolio manager at Third Law Capital Management. Officials at that firm could not be immediately reached.
