Douglas Cohen was named managing director at Athena Capital Advisors, spokeswoman Hayley Reissfelder said.
Ms. Reissfelder did not disclose whom Mr. Cohen replaced but said his predecessor left “to work for a smaller firm focused on retail clients.”
Mr. Cohen will provide investment advisory services including asset allocation, portfolio construction and other portfolio management-related services. He will also lead the firm's New York office and report to Lisette Cooper, chief investment officer and managing partner.
Mr. Cohen was a founding partner and portfolio manager at Eachwin Capital. The company will be winding down, said people familiar with the matter.
Athena Capital Advisors has $5.5 billion in assets under management.
