Jeff Blazek rejoined Cambridge Associates as managing director and a chief investment officer in its pension practice, said spokeswoman Samantha Norquist.
The position is new. Mr. Blazek will lead the firm's presence in New York. A news release said he will help serve the firm's institutional clients seeking discretionary portfolio management. He will also be a member of Cambridge Associates' hedge fund ratings and advisory committee.
Mr. Blazek was managing director at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital's investment office. Meghna Desai, formerly head of alternatives with the New Jersey Division of Investment, was appointed to the hospital's investment team as the director of investments, said spokeswoman Karen Sodomick.
Mr. Blazek previously served as a managing director in Cambridge Associates' Dallas office from 2008 to 2014.
Cambridge Associates has about $142 billion in assets under advisement and $20.3 billion in assets under management.
