Amlan Roy was named senior managing director and global chief retirement strategist at State Street Global Advisors, said spokesman Andrew Hopkins.
It is a new position. Mr. Roy will be responsible for leading global research and thought leadership efforts for economic, policy, retirement and investment trends. He will be based in London and report to Lori Heinel, deputy global chief investment officer.
Mr. Roy was managing director of global demographics and pensions research at Credit Suisse. It could not be immediately learned if he was replaced; a Credit Suisse spokesman could not be reached for comment.
SSGA reported $2.468 trillion in assets under management as of Dec. 31.
