Walworth County, Elkhorn, Wis., is searching for an investment consultant for its 403(b) and 457 plans, according to an RFP posted on the county's website.
The county plans do not now have a consultant. The county issued the RFP because it “determined it was in our best interest to partner with an entity to help keep us in compliance (with fiduciary responsibility), while also examining our current deferred compensation program for competitiveness and appropriate investment vehicles,” according to an addendum to the RFP.
The chosen consultant may also assist in an RFP for record keepers for the plans, although that is not scheduled. The 457 plan's record keeper is Nationwide Financial, while the 403(b) plan's record keepers are Ameriprise Financial, AXA Equitable and Verisight.
The plans have a combined $40 million in assets.
Proposals are due at 1 p.m. CDT on May 2. Finalist presentations are tentatively scheduled for May 18-19, with a decision likely sometime in June. The RFP is available here.
Nick Cramer, county purchasing manager, referred questions to the RFP and addendum.
