Texas Teachers slates $300 million for Silver Lake buyout fund

Texas Teacher Retirement System, Austin, committed $300 million to Silver Lake Partners V in March, according to a transaction report from the $133.2 billion pension fund.

The Silver Lake fund will invest in large U.S. technology company buyout deals.

In February, TRS made its first private equity commitment of the year, awarding $325 million to Clayton, Dubilier & Rice X.
