Marlin Management Co. closed Marlin Equity V at $2.5 billion and Marlin Heritage Fund II at $750 million, the company announced in a news release.
The middle-market private equity funds, the former dealing at the upper end of the market and the latter at the lower end, closed at their hard caps and exceeded their respective targets of $2 billion and $500 million, respectively.
The previous funds, Marlin Equity IV and Marlin Heritage, closed at $2 billion and $500 million, respectively.
The funds invest in business software, technology, health-care information technology, business services and industrial technology sectors.
Investors in both funds include the $25.6 billion Texas County & District Retirement System, Austin, $25.1 billion Texas Municipal Retirement System, Austin, $14.8 billion Ohio Police & Fire Pension Fund, Columbus, and $11.7 billion New Mexico Educational Retirement Board, Santa Fe.
