Equity indexes had their worst single-day drop of 2017 Tuesday. Five of the nine sectors of the Russell 3000 also saw their worst daily performance so far in 2017, with only the utilities sector in the black. The financials sector saw the worst of it with its largest single-day decline since the day following the Brexit vote. Volume among holdings in the sector was up 40% relative to the average 2017 daily volume. Volume of index, as a whole, was up 13.4%.
