Alice A. Ruth was named chief investment officer of Dartmouth College, the Hanover, N.H.-based college announced Monday.
Ms. Ruth, who starts April 1, will manage the college's $4.5 billion endowment, along with roughly $1 billion in additional college funds, said a Dartmouth news release. She will oversee an investment staff of 13.
She replaces Pamela L. Peedin who announced in November that she would be resigning to spend time with her family. Ms. Peedin will stay on part-time through June to assist with the transition, a university spokeswoman said in an email.
Previously, Ms. Ruth was CIO at Willett Advisors, the family office of Michael Bloomberg. Like Ms. Peedin, she is a Dartmouth alumna.
A Willett Advisors official could not immediately be reached for information on a replacement.
