Texas County & District Retirement System, Austin, committed a total of $135 million to two private equity funds run by Marlin Management Co., a transaction report showed.
The $25.6 billion pension fund committed $100 million to Marlin Equity Partners V and $35 million to Marlin Heritage Fund II. Both are middle-market private equity funds, the former dealing at the upper end of the market and the latter at the lower end.
In May 2016, the fund committed $57 million to Marlin Heritage Europe.
The latest Marlin fund commitments represent the pension fund's second and third private equity commitments in 2017. In February, $60 million was earmarked for Veritas Capital Fund VI, according to the report.
