The mutual fund and exchange-traded funds distribution arm of New York Life Insurance Co. has created a free online service to help advisers and plan sponsors navigate the evolving governance landscape.
MainStay Investments, New York, has launched MainStay's Retirement Institute, which provides information and expert commentary on salient topics affecting the retirement industry.
“We want to provide timely and relevant insights to the plan sponsor and (defined contribution investment only) communities,” said Jonathan Blaze, national sales director for retirement plans at MainStay, who spearheaded the initiative. “We want to provide actionable resources for advisers to use as they assist their plan sponsor clients and prospects to help them navigate the governance landscape,” Mr. Blaze added.
MainStay has partnered with experts at Groom Law Group and Don Trone, founder and CEO of fiduciary leadership training provider 3ethos Inc., to help create the institute. Presentations currently available through the institute provide advice and information on recent trends in Employee Retirement Income Security Act litigation and understanding fiduciary responsibilities.
The presentations are available for free on MainStay's website.
Mr. Blaze said he expects the firm to provide more educational presentations in the future. “This is just the beginning,” he said.
