Mike Coop joined Morningstar Investment Management Europe as head of multiasset portfolio management for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, a spokeswoman said.
The position is new, and Mr. Coop started at the firm, a wholly owned subsidiary of Morningstar Associates on March 1. Mr. Coop leads the firm’s multiasset portfolio management team for EMEA in London and Paris, and is primarily responsible for Morningstar’s managed portfolios in the region. He chairs the investment management group’s portfolio committee, and is also a lead portfolio manager alongside portfolio manager Emma Morgan on Morningstar’s real-return managed portfolios family.
Mr. Coop’s addition to the European team “further strengthens our managed portfolios proposition and support for the financial advisers we serve,” said Dan Kemp, chief investment officer for Morningstar Investment Management Europe, in a news release.
Mr. Coop was head of multiasset portfolio management in Prudential Portfolio Management Group. A spokeswoman confirmed the departure and said PPMG’s investment model is structured around a team of more than 80 people, including investment professionals.
