Peter Walsh was named head of Robeco's U.K. business.
Mr. Walsh leads the sales and marketing efforts for the Robeco U.K. office, said a spokeswoman for the firm, and is also responsible for the operational management of the office. He also retained his role as global head of consultant relations until a successor is appointed, added the spokeswoman.
Mr. Walsh replaces Mark Barry, who left late last year. The spokeswoman said there are some differences in roles as things have evolved since Mr. Barry's departure. Mr. Barry could not be reached for comment on his current plans.
"Expansion in the U.K. is an important aspect of the Robeco growth strategy," said Gilbert Van Hassel, CEO at Robeco, in a news release. "(His) deep understanding of clients’ needs combined with his proven experience and skills will give Robeco an excellent opportunity to further grow in this market."
Robeco has about £5.4 billion ($6.7 billion) of assets under management from U.K. clients.
