Youngsoo “Erika” Oh joined Korea’s Government Employees Pension Fund earlier this month as head of international investment, a spokesman for the $7 billion Seoul-based fund confirmed Thursday.
Ms. Oh comes to GEPS from Korea’s 545 trillion won ($462 billion) National Pension Service, where she has served as a senior portfolio manager of domestic equities for the past two years. Prior to that assignment, Ms. Oh served as the first head of the New York office NPS opened in mid-2011, the pension fund’s first overseas beachhead.
An NPS spokesman couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.
Ms. Oh replaces Young Sung Kim as head of international investments at GEPS. Mr. Kim left GEPS recently to join KB Bank in a similar position.
