Willis Towers Watson debuted its long-awaited investment platform, The Asset Management Exchange, Monday.
The platform, designed for use by institutional investors, offers a standardized fund infrastructure and centralized back office services.
AMX is available for existing Willis Towers Watson investment consulting clients as well as investment-only asset owners. The firm's internally managed hedge funds-of-funds strategies also will invest with managers on AMX, said Jamie Kilduff, a Willis Towers Watson spokesman.
Hedge fund managers are the first money managers to be added to the platform, but managers offering other strategies and asset classes will follow, Mr. Kilduff said.
Existing Willis Towers Watson institutional clients already invested a total of $750 million in hedge funds on the new platform.
“The digital revolution has come to institutional asset management. … AMX will make investment smarter, easier and cheaper to implement and monitor, for both buyer and seller,” said Oliver Jaegermann, global head of AMX, in a Willis Towers Watson news release.
