Allstate Corp., Northbrook, Ill., expects to contribute $136 million to its pension plans in 2017, said the company's recently filed 10-K.
Allstate contributed $131 million to its pension plans in 2016.
As of Dec. 31, the company had $5.65 billion in pension fund assets and $6.59 billion in benefit obligations for a funded status of 85.7%, down from 87.3% at the end of 2015.
At the end of 2016, the pension plans had an aggregate asset allocation of 62% equities, 29% fixed income, 7% limited partner interests, which includes private equity, real estate and hedge funds, and 2% short-term investments and other. The discount rate used to calculate benefit obligations was 4.15% as of Dec. 31, down from 4.83% at the end of 2015.
