Sally Staley, chief investment officer at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, is retiring effective Feb. 28, the university announced in a statement emailed by Ms. Staley.
She has been CIO since 2006, overseeing the $1.7 billion endowment, and originally joined the university in 2002. She did not specify her future plans.
Tim Milanich, director of private investments, will become interim CIO. Information on a search for a permanent replacement was not immediately available.
University spokesman William Lubinger would not provide further information.
