Derek Jackson will join Canada Pension Plan Investment Board's principal credit investments team as a managing director.
A spokesman for CPPIB said Mr. Jackson replaces David Allen,who launched European credit manager AlbaCore Capital in 2016. Mr. Jackson will start in May.
The team focuses on investing in subinvestment-grade corporate debt, through both primary and secondary transactions, said the C$300.5 billion ($230.6 billion) Toronto-based plan's website. The team has investments in the Americas, Europe and Asia, providing debt financing across the capital structure, including high-yield bonds, mezzanine lending and term loans.
Mr. Jackson joins from Davidson Kempner Capital Management where he has been a managing director since July 2009, said a news release by CPPIB. Davidson Kempner officials declined to comment.
