Macon-Bibb County, Ga., is searching for an investment consultant for two of its retirement systems, said Dale Walker, county manager.
The county issued two RFPs for due diligence purposes, Mr. Walker said, “to see what's out there.” Independent Portfolio Consultants is the current consultant for pension funds and is invited to rebid.
The two retirement systems are the $111 million Macon-Bibb County Employee Pension Plan and the $78 million Macon (Ga.) Pensions & Retirement System. The latter was closed Jan. 1, 2014, when the city of Macon and Bibb County consolidated their operations. Previous county employees and employees hired after that date are participants in the other plan, which is open.
The RFPs are available on the county's website. Proposals for both RFPs are due at noon EST on March 2. A timeline for a decision has yet to be determined.
