Texas Teacher Retirement System, Austin, committed a total of $450 million to three alternative investment funds in January, a transaction report showed.
Investment officers of the $133.2 billion pension fund committed $200 million to GSO Co-Investment Fund-D, managed by GSO Capital Partners. The U.S.-focused fund will focus on credit and special situation investment opportunities.
Venture capital/growth equity fund Great Hill Equity Partners VI, managed by Great Hill Partners, received a $150 million commitment for investment in U.S. deals.
From the fund's real assets portfolio, the pension plan committed $100 million to SHI-III Development Co-Investment I. The fund's manager, AEW Capital Management, will invest in a U.S. property.
