Eric Jones was named chief investment officer of Rotary International’s $1 billion foundation, said a spokeswoman for the Evanston, Ill.-based organization in an email.
Mr. Jones, who started on Feb. 1, replaces Jeanette Hamilton, who retired as CIO in February 2016. Chief Financial officer Lori Carlson helped fulfill CIO responsibilities in the interim.
Previously, Mr. Jones was CIO at Loyola University, Chicago, where he oversaw the university’s approximately $535 million endowment along with retirement and other assets.
A university spokeswoman could not immediately be reached for information on a replacement.
Mr. Jones previously worked for the Rotary Foundation as an investment analyst from 1994 to 1997 and a senior investment analyst from 1997 to 1998.
Investment consulting firm Korn Ferry assisted with the CIO search.
