Connecticut Retirement CIO resigns

Deborah Spalding resigned as chief investment officer of the $30.1 billion Connecticut Retirement Plans & Trust Funds, Hartford, effective Thursday, confirmed state Treasurer Denise Nappier, principal fiduciary of the state pension system.

Ms. Spalding is joining Commonfund as a managing director.

Laurie Martin, deputy CIO, has taken the role on an interim basis while a search for a permanent replacement is conducted.
