New York State Common Retirement Fund, Albany, committed $550 million to two funds, said a monthly transaction report on the website of Thomas P. DiNapoli, the state comptroller and sole trustee of the $184.5 billion pension fund.
The pension fund committed $300 million to Blackstone Real Estate Debt Strategies III, managed by Blackstone Group.
The pension fund also committed $250 million to TPG’s TSSP Adjacent Opportunities Partners 3.0. The fund will “invest in opportunities sourced across the TSSP platform … but do not fit the investment mandates of the (TPG Opportunity Partners) funds,” according to the transaction report.
Both transactions were made in December. Both are existing managers for the pension fund.
