Kenneth Borton was named managing director of WhiteHorse Capital, the direct lending affiliate of private equity firm H.I.G. Capital.
Based in London, Mr. Borton will “play an instrumental role in continuing to grow H.I.G.'s direct lending activities in Europe,” said John Bolduc, executive managing director at H.I.G., in a news release. Whether the position is new could not be learned by press time.
Mr. Borton was a managing director at Citi, responsible for the credit opportunities business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, said the release.
WhiteHorse Capital provides debt financing to middle-market companies in the U.S. and Europe, providing senior and subordinated debt for refinancing, growth capital, acquisitions, buyouts and balance sheet recapitalizations.
H.I.G. Capital has €20 billion ($21.4 billion) of equity capital under management. WhiteHorse's assets under management could not be learned by press time.
Mr. Bolduc could not be reached for further comment.
