Gareth Isaac was named chief investment officer for Europe, the Middle East and Africa of Invesco's fixed-income business, a spokesman said.
The position is new. Mr. Isaac will lead portfolio management and strategic investment of the global macro team in London.
Mr. Isaac will also work closely with the investment-grade credit, high yield, emerging markets and credit analyst teams to contribute to product development in these areas, Invesco said in a news release.
He reports to Rob Waldner, chief strategist and head of the multisector team.
Mr. Isaac was a fixed-income fund manager at Schroders for five years, with responsibility for portfolio management, investment strategy, and client and consultant relationships.
A spokeswoman for Schroders confirmed Thursday that Paul Grainger, senior portfolio manager, and Bob Jolly, head of global macro strategy, assumed Mr. Garth's responsibilities at the time of his departure in August last year.
