Joshua Franzel was named president and CEO of the Center for State and Local Government Excellence, the non-profit organization said Tuesday.
The organization helps state and local governments attract and retain public servants.
Mr. Franzel has been with the center since 2007, and until Jan. 1 served as vice president of research, as well as director of policy research for the International City/County Management Association.
Mr. Franzel's contributions, including independent research on workforce demographics, public health and retirement issues, “have been instrumental in building SLGE's reputation,” said outgoing President/CEO Elizabeth Kellar said in a statement. Ms. Kellar, who oversaw development of the public plan database, among other initiatives, will continue as a senior fellow.
