Hilton Head Island, S.C., hired Empower Retirement as record keeper for its defined contribution and retirement health savings plans, with $29.4 million in combined assets, said Nancy H. Gasen, director of human resources, in an e-mail.
Empower replaces ICMA-RC as record keeper. A May conversion date is targeted and investment lineups are expected to change as a result, although details have not been finalized.
An RFP was issued in August as a best practices measure. ICMA rebid and was a finalist, Ms. Gasen wrote.
