Oliver Schupp was named head of North America at French quantitative hedge fund and alternative beta manager Capital Fund Management.
In this new position, which is based in New York, Mr. Schupp is responsible for marketing and client service. He reports to Paris-based Philippe Jordan, president.
Mr. Schupp was CEO of Altemis Capital Management, which he co-founded in 2013 to develop liquid alternative investment solutions for institutional clients. Mr. Schupp handled marketing and client service at Altemis, which is now closed.
Mr. Jordan said Capital Fund Management's substantial client base in North America will benefit from Mr. Schupp's background in managing alternative beta, adding that “North America is a very important region for CFM.”
CFM managed $7 billion as of Nov. 30 — predominantly for institutional investors — of which $2 billion was managed in alternative beta strategies.
