Ohio Police & Fire Pension Fund, Columbus, committed up to $35 million to buyout fund Veritas Capital Fund VI, spokesman David Graham said in an e-mail.
It is the $14.4 billion pension fund’s first commitment to a fund managed by Veritas Capital Fund Management.
The pension fund’s actual allocation to private markets as of Nov. 30 was 6.2%. The target is 8%.
Private markets consultant TorreyCove Capital Partners assisted.
Separately, the pension fund announced it plans to make three real estate commitments of between $40 million and $70 million each in 2017 to move closer to the pension fund’s 12% real estate target. The pension fund does not issue RFPs. As of Nov. 30, the actual real estate allocation was 11%.
