Archie Struthers was named head of investments at Standard Life Investments, said a spokesman.
Starting on Jan. 9, Mr. Struthers will assume the responsibilities of Bill Lambert, head of investment process, who is retiring in March.
Based in Edinburgh, he will report to Rod Paris, chief investment officer. Mr. Struthers will ensure the company’s investment activity is consistent with both regulatory requirements and investment guidelines, said SLI in a news release.
“(Mr. Struthers’) expertise from working in a multiasset solutions role over the past 15 years is also an ideal fit for Standard Life Investments, as a market leader in multiasset investing and investment solutions,” Mr. Paris said in the release.
Mr. Struthers was global head of investment solutions at Aberdeen Asset Management prior to this appointment. A spokesman for Aberdeen confirmed he left the business in the summer, and said his responsibilities have been shared around his former team.
Standard Life Investments had £269 billion ($360 billion) as of June 30.
