Employees describe an “approachable'' culture, which CEO Will Andrews also described as “collaborative.'' Campbell strives for “transparency and inclusion” in decisions with as many employees as possible, he noted.
The manager has four pillars that its employees, around 150, strive to improve on daily: performance, growth, efficiency and talent. Communications are regularly held with employees to update progress on the four areas. Employees' individual contributions are also communicated. As one employee put it, “Campbell embodies the notion that their people are everything to them.”
In addition to the culture, employees responding to the BPTW survey raved about the perks. Over the past year, Campbell has renovated part of its offices to include a new gym. Numerous employees said they “love the new gym” and group fitness classes. Mr. Andrews said the new facility fits into the company's overall wellness programs, which include both physical and financial fitness.
Campbell's existing “ROAR” program — recognizing outstanding achievement regularly — recently got a technological boost. The company started using software from YouEarnedIT, a startup in Austin, Texas. The application allows employees to recognize their colleagues. After enough points have been earned, employees can receive an award.
One employee commented, “It is a fun tool where co-workers, supervisors, and directors share successes, thank-yous and various comments. I feel more connected and part of a team.”
In the past year, Campbell also had it first office Olympic competition, which featured eight events, including tug-of-war and a paper airplane competition.
