Michelle Scrimgeour was named CEO, Europe, Middle East and Africa, at Columbia Threadneedle Investments, and CEO of Threadneedle Asset Management Ltd., said a spokeswoman for the firm.
She will replace Campbell Fleming, who was appointed global head of distribution at Aberdeen Asset Management in July.
Ms. Scrimgeour will join the firm in 2017, but her start date is yet to be finalized, said the spokeswoman. She also will join the executive leadership team of parent company Ameriprise Financial.
She is currently chief risk officer at M&G Investments, and a director of M&G Group. A spokeswoman said the firm will have an update on any replacement in due course. Ms. Scrimgeour “has made an outstanding contribution during her time at M&G so we are not surprised that Columbia Threadneedle has chosen her as the CEO for its EMEA business,” said Anne Richards, CEO of M&G Investments, in a statement provided by the spokeswoman.
Columbia Threadneedle has $468 billion in assets under management.
